Last minute design change

When I had the table on its legs, I wasn't happy with how the outriggers of the undercarriage looked. Too blocky, too square. So I decided to cut them at an angle.

Usually changing parts after everything is assembled and glued is kind of a pain. But it proved not to be too hard in this case. Draw a line on the wood, cut it of, work it straight with a paring chisel, smooth the surface with a card scraper, and make the chamfers again with spokeshave and chisel. Using handtools is a lifesaver in a situation like this. It's kind of hard to get a tablesaw in there.

I also attached the undercarriage to the table top. Drilling pilot holes with brace and bit and using a normal screwdriver. All the timedodging the siren call of the cordless drill, resting on the shelf behind me. The battery is probably dead anyway.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I should be charging ahead to finish this piece. But somehow I can't get of the couch.
